Yes, its true...I have said that I am NOT dating this year. WHY?! Well, there are a few reasons why I am having this state-of-mind. No, it's not necessarily a New Years Resolution and it's not a promise to God....it's a state-of-mind...I guess. I guess I am tired of the pressure of dating, find the "one," and well I am really tired of the situations I get mixed up in.
Obviously, I am not writing this to bash on anyone....I obviously have liked the guys for one or more reasons that I have "dated"...but I guess I am tired of being taken for granted and not being treated the way I deserve. And PLEASE...anyone who knows me...I don't have the "Princess" mentality at all...so don't go thinking that...I am pretty stinkin independent...shoot, I was a farm girl for 7 yrs of my life (haha)!
I guess a few months ago I was confronted on separate occasions by some of my guy friends and well, to sum it all up...they basically told me that the guys I was involved with over the past year+...were not good enough for me, that they were disrespecting me, taking me for granite, and my guy friends couldn't watch it go on anymore. I never thought I would be the girl that anyone would say that to....
I am typically the person that once I am engaged (not engaged. ha) with someone...friendship or more...I stick with them regardless of lies, misleadings, well some pretty DB moves...I just love to love on people...even when it means I get shat upon (that is not said for you to feel bad for me...I am made the way I am...I like it better then being bitter and hateful...ha)
So over the past few months, I have just stepped back and re-evaluated the situations and am just thinking...I just don't need the drama, the disrespect, the misleadings....so why not just go in thinking I am not gonna date. It honestly has freed my mind up of feeling the pressure and just enjoying simple friendships and getting to know people with out the whole caring about anything more then that.
Now sure, if a guy came along and all was great...I could date this year..but for now, I am just going to enjoy these freed up moments...the no drama...the no wondering...and just be...chill...and enjoy life for what it is now.
So thank you to my guy friends and girl friends who love me so much to call situations out when I am just blindly loving people to my detriment...which isnt bad when you are aware of the issues. I still love the dudes and care about them, but from afar. I am blessed with some truly amazing friends all over this country...and I am so amped to travel all over and see you....we are definitely going to be making some amazing memories this year.
xoxo
